The Apple [AAPL] app store has just hit the 300,000 apps mark according to VentureBeat. The 300,000 number includes both free and paid apps for iOS devices.
The actual number of apps, according to the report, is 300,975 which adds around 50,000 since August when Apple announced the store was at 250,000. That means in about 2 months Apple has managed to add a good chunk of apps to the app store.
About 1/3 of the apps in the store are free (94,147 to be exact) while the remaining are paid apps.
