Apogee have launched a new USB 3.0 storage drive called the Apogee Astro Drive A101. The Astro Drive uses the new USB 3.0 interface to allow for quick transfer of files at speeds of up to 180MB/s for reading and 130MB/s for writing to. These speeds allow it to function at up to ten times quicker than a similar USB 2.0 device which typically would have a maximum speed of 30MB/s read and 20MB/s write.
Apogee also claim it to be the worlds smallest USB 3.0 flash drive. The drive it's self comes in three capacities of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
Right now there are no prices available and no launch date has been revealed either. We expect with the announcement though that it shouldn't be too long before we will get pricing details.
