Amazon opens Wireless Store

Amazon have opened a new site that is dedicated to mobile phones and service plans. It is named Amazon Wireless and is currently still in beta. The service allows you to search for phones by brand, price, colour, features etc…

At the moment only 2 carriers are onboard which are AT&T and Verizon and for some reason, the iPhone (that is available on AT&T) is not available through the Wireless store.

The reason Amazon have created the store is due to simplifying the buying process of a new mobile phone and contract.

Eh…it could mean trouble for the local mom and pop outlets that sell cell phones, but the big carriers will only benefit from Amazon getting into the game.
