Alienware M11x to be Officially Updated

by Matthew Newill on June 8, 2010

Back in January we wrote about the Alienware M11x. The M11x is made by Dell, who own Alienware, and features an 11.6 inch screen along with some uprated features that allowed it to function well with games, perhaps on medium settings.

Dell has now updated the Alienware M11x to include newer features. These include the newer NVIDIA Optima chipset that can automatically switch between graphics modes to save battery life when heavy graphics processing power is not needed.

As for processors, you can now choose between an Intel Core i5 or a Core i7. Custom build features are also available. The netbook/laptop can hold up to 8GB of RAM and as for storage you can go up to 500GB on a 7,200 RPM drive or if SSD is more your thing, you can choose a 256GB model of that.

These new uprated features make the M11x a nice and compact powerful netbook. If you enjoy games whilst on the move then this is one option to seriously consider although of course we'd recommend reading the Alienware M11x reviews before spending any cash.

One thing to note about the new Alienware M11x is that it misses a VGA port when compared to the older model. HDMI is still available for you to use should you need to connect up to an external monitor or projector, but if you needed a VGA output then this one won't do it.

Pricing and availability is not known yet, but it is expected shortly. More details over on the Dell site.
