AIS Ultra Rugged PDA

A new ultra rugged PDA has been created by AIS that runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and is powered by a 624MHz processor.

On the front of the device is a 3.7 inch QVGA screen which also comes as a VGA screen if you select that option. Memory wise it has 256MB for storage and 256MB of RAM for running applications.

Connectivity wise it has wireless, Bluetooth, GPS and also a 3G radio is built in allowing it to connect wherever an appropriate mobile signal is available.

There are also plenty of ports available on the device which includes the following...

* Two USB type A connectors, USB1.1 (Host)
* One USB mini type B connector, USB1.1 (Slave)
* One RS-232
* One RS-232/422/485(optional)
* One RJ-45 for Ethernet
* One CF slot
* One stereo headphone jack
* One microphone jack
* One DC-IN connector
* One Micro-SD slot

The price tag for such a rugged device doesn't come cheap though at $1899 making it rather expensive although for rugged devices there is always a premium to pay due to what they are generally put through.
