Acer have announced the launch of the Acer Aspire Timeline notebook. The Timeline range aim to be slim and efficient in their design and power usage. Lets take a look at what it can do.
One of the key points of the Acer Aspire Timeline is the battery that can power it for more then 8 hours on a single charge. It achieves this by using energy efficient parts such as the processor and display. Rather then providing a bulky battery, the extra efficiency achieved can provide the 8 hours on a fairly small battery making it still small and sleek.
The Aspire Timeline uses the Intel Core 2 Duo ultra low voltage line of processors along side Intel DPST which is a display power savings technology that can reduce the backlight level with hardly making you notice. This alone saves 33% on the screen’s power consumption. The combination of processor and screen allow the battery to last 40% longer.

A few years ago I was amazed by the 1″ thin Macbook Pro because they are thinner than Powerbooks they were replacing. Now 1″ has become “super thin” even though we already have .76″ thin Macbook Air, Lenovo X300, Voodoo Envy.
Sorry, I just don’t get it yet. So how is this 1″ super thin acer more special than .76″ thin Macbook Air, Lenovo X300, and Voodoo Envy?
Does the Macbook Air, Lenovo X300, and Voodoo Envy have an optical drive?
