The cougar IED (improvised explosive device) truck is huge. It is mine resistant and ambush protected (MRAPs) the Marines placed an order for 1000 of them a few months back. They are stronger then the armoured Humvee’s. A V-Shaped undercarriage is used to redirect explosives around the vehicle. The small version above is a 4×4 and a larger 6 wheeled version is available. According to Popular Mechanics the Pentagon hope to deploy 7774 MRAPs altogether. The cost of each is just over $1M dollars.
