Vonage V-Phone

by Matthew on June 29, 2006

The V-Phone from Vonage works just like it says… it can make calls. I look at it and wonder how the heck it does that. Well.. the USB stick includes the software on it and can be plugged in to any USB port on a PC/Laptop with a wi-fi connection. Clients who use this are not stuck with PC to PC calls and can also use Vonage services to call out also.

What this does is allows business users to never miss an important call when they are away from their desk. Just plug it in, retrieve your voice mail, make calls, recieve calls all through this USB connector. It comes with a jack for plugging in the most common mobile phone headsets.

Yubi-Wa Ring Phone by NTT DoCoMo

by Matthew on June 29, 2006

This is a phone I have seen before. It’s an interesting concept and now looks to be reality. It sits on your finger like a ring and you stick your finger in your ear and can have a conversation. The device vibrates the ring on your finger converting your finger in to sound. Weird or what? :) Apparantly the quality of sound is acceptable.

SlimEx Onyx USB HDD

by Matthew on June 29, 2006

This is another device I would look to buy. It is a SlimEx Onyx 40GB USB HDD. It weighs less then 3 oz and measures just 3.9″ x 2.4″ x 0.4″ which is small enough to comfortbly carry around in your pocket. It is a USB 2.0 device which gives it a nice fast transfer rate. It does not require drivers as it’s a plug and play device and has a nice magnesium alloy casing making it tough against a few knocks here and there (although I do not recommend that :) )

LED Plant Pots

by Matthew on June 29, 2006

Something different here then the usual MP3 players, toys and other crazy stuff we write about.

The LED plant pot… or “Roma-by-Night DecorLight” as it’s more commonly known as, is a remote controlled plant pot that glows a nice ambient colour in the garden to give a little light to the place. It has 20 different programs for how the colours work and is controlled by you with the remote control from the comfort of your garden chair. Impress the neighbours and have the best garden in the street with these :)

Toshiba 4GB SDHC

by Matthew on June 29, 2006

Wow is what I say to this one. 4GB in one small SD sized card. Who would have thought that this was possible 10 years ago? The 4GB SDHC from Toshiba. SDHD is a high capacity SD card which unfortunatly is not too compatible with current readers. Shame… but still worth shelling out for a new device hey?? :D

It has a minimum write speed of 4MB/s and will eventually come with capacities of up to 32Gb.

Superman iPod Case

by Matthew on June 29, 2006

Ok, it had to be done. XTremeMac have launched the Superman version of it’s iPod case and I can see this one selling really well which is just in time for the new movie release. It covers the whole iPod and yet allows all the controls to still work. I wonder if it’s made of bullet proof lycra/spandex?? Who knows. Anyway, there are 2 versions out… the case for the 30Gb and case for the 60Gb iPods and it retails for just $30.

Sony NW-A1200 8GB

by Matthew on June 29, 2006

Sony have increased the capacity of their MP3 player to 8GB. The NW-A1200 takes just 2 hours to charge and runs for a nice 20 hours. It has the usual sleek looks with the hidden screen which shines through and looks as though it’s floating on the surface of the player “tech name of electroluminescent display”. :)
